The short version: TinySerial collects nothing. It is an offline tool. It has no account system, no analytics, no crash reporting and no server of its own. Your serial data, projects and notes stay on your Mac.
None. TinySerial does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location or any other personal information, and it does not create an account for you.
To do its job, TinySerial stores the following locally, inside its own sandbox container on your Mac:
This data is never transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app removes it.
TinySerial does not connect to the internet. It contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no crash-reporting SDK, and it does not send usage statistics of any kind.
The app opens serial devices (/dev/cu.*) inside the macOS App Sandbox, using only the serial and USB device entitlements. This access is used solely to read from and write to the device you select.
We share nothing with third parties, because we hold nothing. If you obtained TinySerial from the Mac App Store, your purchase and download are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy; we receive only aggregate sales reports that do not identify you.
TinySerial is a professional engineering tool and is not directed at children. Since no data is collected, none is collected from children either.
Rights to access, correct, export or delete personal data under laws such as the GDPR, CCPA and the PIPL apply to data a developer holds. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to disclose or erase. The data on your Mac is under your control at all times.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
